Enter an initial investment and at least one cash flow to see NPV and IRR.

NPV discounts every cash flow to today; IRR is the rate where NPV = 0. Educational tool — not investment advice.

NPV vs IRR

NPV discounts every cash flow to today and sums them; positive means the project adds value at that rate. IRR is the discount rate that makes NPV exactly zero.

NPV = Σ CFₜ / (1 + r)ᵗ   IRR: NPV = 0

When cash flows change sign more than once there can be multiple IRRs — defer to NPV. See NPV and IRR.
